Company Profile
As a full-service real estate development company, Cafritz Interests continues the legacy of the Cafritz name in Washington, DC, where Morris Cafritz first began developing residential properties in 1919. Today, Cafritz Interests operates by acquiring, developing, and repositioning properties in several diverse markets.
Under the leadership of Conrad Cafritz, a real estate developer and entrepreneur with more than 40 years of experience, Cafritz Interests seeks to create value in all stages of the real estate investment, development, and management disciplines through its in-depth understanding of its core markets and product types. Examples of this history of success include: the modernization of 1775 Eye Street, the repositioning of the landmark Washington Harbour complex, and the renovation of the expansive Security West office building in Baltimore for the US Social Security Administration. Each of these projects reflects the Cafritz hallmarks of: targeted design, quality construction, and superior market timing.
Cafritz Interests' work spans the US, and includes projects in the office, retail, hotel, residential, healthcare, and industrial sectors. In addition to acquisitions and development, Cafritz also provides comprehensive property management services.
Cafritz Interests investment activities are focused primarily within its two principal subsidiary entities, Modus Hotels and NOVUS Residences. Modus Hotels, formerly Potomac Hospitality Services, has been a premier owner/operator of hotels and lodging facilities since 1976. In 2011, Cafritz partnered with Robert Seldin to form NOVUS Residences, a multifamily development company that focuses on providing high quality and high value multifamily communities in areas committed to expanding walkability.
