The building is set among a row of historic townhomes on a quiet residential street, and features elegant furnishings and a comfortable, welcoming ambiance. Many guests return year after year, and the hotel has averaged an 85 percent occupancy for more than five years.
Cafritz Interests converted the property from an apartment building to a hotel in 1979. Cafritz affiliate Potomac Hospitality Services manages the hotel. The property also includes the highly acclaimed Dish restaurant, which occupies the River Inn's 50-seat dining area.
